Ecotype: Woodland Meadow + Woodland Edge
For: Restoration projects, mixed conditions, east-facing properties
Aesthetic: Lush biodiverse ecotone mixing two types of ecosystems
The Living Edge ecotype is a refined woodland system inspired by principles of restraint, balance, and borrowed landscape.
It integrates Woodland Edge and Coastal Forest ecology, emphasizing filtered light, moss layers and seasonal subtlety.
Over 20 plant species such as Acer circinatum, Cornus nuttallii, Mahonia nervosa, Polystichum munitum, Polystichum munitum and Vaccinium ovatum are included in the planting plan to form a quiet, layered composition.
This is a garden of atmosphere rather than display. It is especially suited for contemplative spaces, estate gardens and shaded transition zones.
The Living Edge applies restraint as a design principle. Using shaded woodland ecology, it creates layered, contemplative landscapes rooted in subtle seasonal change.
A tapestry of texture in design.
